Flux

One who distorts reality. Rumors say that a flux can pass through walls by reshaping them, but this is mostly an illusion performed by a famous flux magician. In reality, they may only pass through certain materials that they displace on contact, similar to one walking into water. A flux can also manipulate motion in a certain area, causing all within a sphere to move faster or slower. This only affects things that move from their own power, not things set into motion; those will remain at their current speed (modified by friction and gravity, of course).

Flux are very rare anywhere. Almost every single flux is part of a well-known migrating circus, since their abilities allow them to perform acts more easily. There are many stories about there being wild flux running around in forests, killing men, women, and children, but no one has ever provided any evidence of this. It is far more likely that these disappearances were the result of wild animals or revenants, but no revenant will admit or deny it.

Flux are generally not very strong, but have very quick reactions and are slightly more intelligent than most others. This mental quickness, aided by a sphere of physical speed, makes flux expert jugglers and aids their ability to fight close range. This added speed, however, makes long range weapons virtually useless, since it makes tiny movements nearly impossible.

There are no records of any flux nobles having ever existed, most likely due to their rarity.

Flux can use almost any weapon, but gain bonus damage when using swords, knives, and other close range weapons. They also work better with lightweight armors, but can equip any armor they wish to equip.

Because of their migrant nature, flux form bonds with any group they are travelling with. They form tight-knit "families" of siblings, similar to monasteries and convents. There are no flux who do not have a family like this and they take pride in their unity. If a flux loses his or her family, s/he will find a new group to bond with.
