Gava appear similar to humans in overall shape, but several key features are different. They have hardened fists that are resistant to fire and cold that make their attacks more effective when unarmed or with melee weapons (from hardness and weight). They have very pale skin, though there is a tiny red tint to it that makes them appear very pink against white surfaces. The "whites" of their eyes are brown and their irises are a bio-luminescent white that allows them to see in color at night, even with no light (albeit not very far). They either have no hair or long, styled hair in brown or black. They go to great lengths to make their hair or scalp "pretty" (though their definition of pretty is tattoos of great battles on their scalps or small skeletons woven and tied into their hair). Their clothes, however, get nearly no attention and are very simple in design, often consisting of belted, black sweatpants and a white tank top. The rest of their body is kept very clean, with no tattoos or even body hair (which they have very little of anyway).
Gava eat mostly fruits indigenous to the area they live, which is most commonly the Huanel, a pitted fruit similar to a peach, but with a crunchy shell (though most peel this off, as it has no nutritional value). Their jaws have developed to eat these fruits, so they only have sharp front teeth and hard ridges in the back.
Gava cities are massive mud, stone, and wood structures, similar in appearance to a multistory mission. Each is painted white with a family's mark on a front wall, near the door. An entire family will live and die in that house, only leaving it to work. Their bodies have evolved to disintegrate within a few days of death into pure ash, which they then mix with mud to patch any holes in the house.
Gava have very strong immune systems and are immune to almost every disease, with the exceptions of GIDV (Gava Immune Deficiency Virus, similar to AIDS, but only takes a few days to kill them) and FIS (Feirum-Inses Syndrome, which softens the flesh on their hands, making them incapable of doing most tasks the way they've learned how. It is by no means deadly, but it is the worst torture Gava know of).
The naming system of Gava is the same as in some Asian countries, where the family name comes first, then a shared generational name (what the parents decide their children are going to have. It's usually the name of a flower), then the individual's name. After this, they write any nicknames they may have.
